PK Sound, the robotic line array company, has announced a string of new hires within its Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineering teams. The appointments are the result of the company investing in innovation and infrastructure throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in anticipation of the industry’s recovery.

“Over the past year, we’ve refocused our teams and made significant investments in preparation for a major push towards our goal of PK SOUND becoming a top global brand in the premium professional loudspeaker market,” comments CEO Jeremy Bridge. “Our vision is to drive innovation to reshape the future of sound. To realize that vision, we’ve bolstered R&D staff and resources and expanded our manufacturing operations. Now, we’re singularly focused on advancing the next generation of professional audio systems.”

Joining PK’s Electrical Engineering team are Design Engineer Andrea Dukeshire and Firmware Engineer Colton Schmidt. Dukeshire earned her M.Sc from the University of Calgary and comes to PK with over a decade of experience in product design and development with boutique firms and major corporations alike. Schmidt, also a University of Calgary graduate, most recently served as an Intermediate Firmware Engineer with General Dynamics Mission Systems prior to joining PK SOUND.

Ben Walker joins the Mechanical Engineering team, working directly under lead Mechanical Designer Lucas Martin. A self-described “loudspeaker junkie” with experience in live sound and lighting, Walker earned his B.Sc. from the University of Alberta and is currently working towards his M.Eng. in acoustics through Penn State University.

Finally, joining the Software Engineering department are Developers Joel Briggs and Nick Lepine. Briggs is a graduate of the University of Calgary and Mount Royal College and boasts over 15 years of experience as a developer for an array of firms. Lepine is also a University of Calgary grad and comes to PK following three years with Calgary’s Isotechnics and a multi-year consultancy with Deloitte.

“Our live sound community has faced overwhelming disruption and hardship this year; however, we’ve been fortunate to keep people working and even add to our team,” Bridge adds in closing. “We’re entering 2021 better poised than ever and look forward to continuing our growth as we participate in the industry’s resurgence.”
